I am just giving below the details of some mails exchanged between me and makemytrip regarding a booking we had made for a renowned Tamil speaker to fly from Kolkata to Chennai on Monday, 15th December 2014. The booking was made for Spicejet flight SG 328 leaving Kol at 0630 hours. As you all know Spicejet is going bankrupt following Kingfisher and is cancelling lot of flights though bookings are accepted (as per media reports) even now for the flights already cancelled!!!! This can happen only in India i suppose. anyway coming to the point, the passenger got a mail some days back saying that he has been allotted a seat in another spicejet flight SG 274 leaving Kol at 0635 hours. Three days back, the passenger got a sms saying that the flight is cancelled and asked him to contact (they have given two cell numbers). Inspite of our trying so many times, the response is ...incorrect number... not answering your calls etc... As I made the booking on behalf of our association for a function at Kolkata, I mailed to makemytrip and posted in their FB page. I was allotted a response number and promised action within 24 hours. as nothing was done i contacted their helpline. first one Mr Prasanth told after collecting details to contact him after 2 hours (AS HE WAS BUSY ATTENDING TO ANOTHER CUSTOMER - are we then cattles?). He said helpline numbers do not display called numbers (is is true - i am not aware of such a funny thing). When I rang up after 2 hours, someone asked all details (Mr Prasanth not available for all calls according to that gentleman) and coolly disconnected. i called the number again mr manish kumar arrogantly told that it is not their responsibility !!!!. suddenly i received an email from them after 2 hours saying that i may contact them if the issue is not resolved within 7 days. now my question is : they are agents for different airlines. is it not there duty to resolve the problem. what do they mean by asking me to get it solved and with whom? i specifically told that as the passenger is having some other engagement from next day and he is booked by afternoon train from Chennai, they are giving an alternative flight (again same spicejet, which is cancelling different flights) in the evening. hoping to get a justice from someone in the position of authority i am posting this on a public forum
