I am looking for a fishing job...and I am totally green, but I am healthy, in good shape with labor experience in landscaping, cooking, farming, and produce sales (Pike Place Market). It is my ultimate dream to get a job on a ship in the engine room....Hoping to get into Seattle Maritime Academy for Fall 2015. Currently I am in the Vigor Shipyard Welding program through South Seattle Community College. School is out December 19th and Ill be ready to ship out on December 20th with my FCAW 3G 4G welding certificate in hand. I have MMD OS, Wiper, Steward; TWIC; Basic Safety Training and valid U.S. Passport. I hear processing is a good place to start...and thats just fine by me (maybe my cooking background will help?). Could anyone suggest someone (or some company) I should talk to?...My first contact has been at Clipper Seafoods (dropped off a resume, but havent filled out the online application yet).
