I am looking for suggestions on increasing parent awareness and interest in the issue of the high stakes testing. Third grade students in the Bixby school district can opt out of the OCCT with out any concern of being held back if they meet other benchmark goals such as the DIBELS. My son has already met the end of year benchmarks and I will be opting him out. Many parents do not know this is an option and some do not care. I do not like the way schools are teaching to the OCCT and opting him out is my way to protest. Any suggestions on how to increase awareness?
