I am moved to tears this morning with a reaffirmation of the goodness of humanity. It is rare these days that an online gaming community can spontaneously come together in support of a stranger who needs their strength, their prayers, and their love during a very difficult time. This morning, a man known as Rip DD to the kingdom of Antochia in Game of War: Fire Age is undergoing a major surgery to fight his cancer. The community immediately spammed prayers, love and support to this man in a series of amens that was unexpected to see in a gaming community. So often there is a crude and rude jerk who ruins it for all, but not this time. I watched as dozens upon dozens of positive thoughts and prayers were posted and relayed to Rip DD and replied with humility. Many players agreed upon a cease fire during the times of his surgery and began placing support encampments of troops all around his city as a visible sign of their affection for this player and to help him feel strong in the hours and days ahead. I just am overwhelmed with love for these people who I do not even know but with whom I share a common sentiment of support for this player named Rip DD who I have never even met. All humans know and share fear, this is something we all can feel and relate with. I am very proud that so many have chosen to reach out to this man in this way to give him even the tiniest bit of strength that we can offer. I pray for him and his family that he be strong, be well, and survive to tell his family and his friends of the love that so many strangers came together to share today. Here are some screenshots of the encampments surrounding Rip DD. instagram/p/sOzDPGDoEq/ instagram/p/sOy-wZjoEk/ instagram/p/sOy7D6DoEh/
