I am nearly 30 years post-op from massive spine surgery to correct what was a 65+ degree curve. Eventually I will require a revision. I also work with a community of children who are predisposed to having spine issues. Unlike many of the orthopedic issues your spine is the very foundation of your skeleton. Better accuracy and precision is paramount during spine surgery! Im amazed at how few institutions invest in technology of this nature... Given that it can dramatically decrease the likelihood of misplaced hardware for patients young and old. If you or a loved one is considering spine surgery I highly encourage you to seek a surgeon who is utilizing the most technologically advanced tools available. Its a given that I will inevitably go under the knife again one day for the 30 year old rods and screws that hold my spine together... Im incredibly grateful that both my husband and brother are working everyday to make spine surgery better for patients worldwide.
