I am not a politician and perhaps that is why some of the things that I am about to tell you, shock me. This is the first time I am running for office and I am aghast at some of the emails I have been receiving since I declared my candidacy. I have received 4 emails offering to support and endorse my candidacy for a fee. Only 1 had any questions about me or my positions, the have just told me their fee. Today, I had an email selling a seminar for $175 to teach me how to answer constituents questions regardless of my position. This is quite disturbing. Where are the ethics if I can buy support before I am even elected. Quite honestly, I want the constituents to know my position, but further to that, whoever gets elected must remember they must put their position aside and represent the position of the people. I am sure I am not special, I am sure all candidates are getting these emails. Why have I not read about this before?
