I am not in anyway accepting the MENDs support for Buhari. I think GMB should come out publicly and denounce their support, just the way Obama did to The Nation of Islam when he was contesting against Hilary Clinton just before he won his partys primaries. It was the attack that MEND took full responsibility before and after the attack. But Goodluck Jonathan exonerated them publicly and put the blame on the people of Northern Nigeria or Hausa people in particular. That happened the same day at which the attack took place. Understand me well, I am not trying to promote regional, religious or ethnic sentiment. But, those are undeniable facts. I want people to be very cautious with the story, which has gone viral that MEND has endorsed Buhari for presidency. That is not something worth sharing. I think GMB does not need MENDs backing to win the election. MEND are widely perceived as criminals. We all believe that MEND is a group that wage war against Nigerian economy. They have been known to be militants and illegal group that promotes the acts of terror for decades. Three questions: *Are you trying to legitimize MEND just because they offer their purported support to GMB? *So, if Boko Haram also comes out tomorrow to publicly endorse GMB you will see them as a legitimate group? *Are you trying to tell me that you would be happy if BH or Shekau offers their support to GMB too? I am not sure if people should be happy or should be proud with such development. My concern is, what if that claim is a trick employed at paving a way for some blackmailers to emerge tomorrow disguising as Boko Haram leaders to claim that they also endorse Buhari? Then PDP will have every reason to associate GMB with BH as they always attempt to. I think PDP could do everything possible to use what may come up soon as a campaign weapon against GMB. Just be careful. But, this is just my forecast. I might be wrong.
