I am not sure if fb is the best way to convey the following news, but in this case I wanted as many people as possible to hear about a very, very close friend who has just been told that he has cancer! Michael Higgens after extensive tests was told that he has cancer very near to his aorta. Mike started chemo today and hopefully this will shrink the tumour which will allow for an operation to remove. This news is actually a big improvement on last week when he was told that he only had 8-10 months. Thankfully the cancer near to his spine was an incorrect diagnosis. Mike has certainly had his share of ups and downs in his life and maybe upset a few on the way, but to the vast majority of people, Mike was and is, a fantastic friend who is admired by all. Fingers crossed!
