I am not too sure if self-defense can be used as reasoning to murder or causing bodily harm to someone under common law in Singapore. Is it true that as long as it can be proven in court that the force used was for self-defense purposes, murdering or hurting someone is considered legal? Does the court has a clear definition of what murder by self-defense entails? Or maybe the defendant must prove that he or she clearly believed that the act was necessary to protect themselves and that “reasonable force” was used.
