I am not very happy with the job Ive done explaining Tilt & - TopicsExpress

I am not very happy with the job Ive done explaining Tilt & Rotation. Ive also checked through You Tube and am not crazy about any of the videos that explain the concepts. So I will make a recording regarding the concepts this week, perhaps even tomorrow and I think it will clear everything up. * Remember that everything starts with the Positive Axis Point (PAP) once you have the PAP marked on the ball, Tilt and Rotation are very easy to find. A BOWLING BALL ROLLS IN 2 PLAINS 1. HORIZONTAL - ROTATION IS MEASURED (OBSERVED IN THIS PLANE) I say observed because there is no tool or conversion table we use to obtain this number. It is something we learn to observe, and when we get good we can watch a bowler with knowledge of his or her PAP and identify his or her ROTATION. * ROTATION must be higher than a balls TILT in order for a ball to Hook and is acted on by FRICTION. * Just as ROTATION must be higher than TILT, a ball looses Rotation faster than TILT as it is traveling down the lane. 2. VERTICAL PLANE - TILT is MEASURED (We measure Tilt in inches and then use a table to convert to degrees) on the Vertical Plane. Axis Tilt is acted on by Gravity, and while it is smaller than Axis Rotation, a ball maintains its degree of Tilt longer than it does its Rotation. TILT and ROTATION become equal in the last transition from HOOK TO ROLL and when the ball hits the pins there is no TILT OR ROTATION LEFT. These concepts are not made easy by words and sentences on paper. Visual aids do help of course, but once I make the video everything will become clear. A VIDEO DEFINITELY THIS WEEK, HOPEFULLY TOMORROW NIGHT.
