I am now an official card-carrying member of the ALP. Rather than joining the Greens, with whose policies I have more sympathy, I made (not took! I hate people taking decisions! Where are they taking them?) the decision to join the Labor Party b/c they can win the next election. The Greens arent going to take power, not in my lifetime anyway, & I cannot sit by & twiddle my thumbs while this govt dismantles the welfare system, abolishes Medicare, disavows the pledges they made before the election to honour Gonski & the NDIS, ignores freedom of the Press & commits piracy on the open sea. I dont agree with Labor policy on refugees, to put it mildly, but that can be changed from within. They are trashing Australias reputation abroad & creating an Australia I dont want to live in. If they win the next election we wont be Australia anymore, well be Nazi Germany circa 1938.
