I am officially done chairing the International Families - TopicsExpress

I am officially done chairing the International Families conference. This few day event was the culmination of two years worth of working with an amazing group of lawyers and some phenomenal ABA staff. There were days where I worked more on this conference than I spent earning a living. It took a lot out of me, but it was worth every late night email, every frustrating phone call, every worry over locations, social events, and budget line items. I got to meet the most amazing new colleagues, and I got to spend some quality time with my best and dearest friends, some who flew in only for a day or two because of trials or family events. They are amazing people who make this all worth it. And, with all the hard work comes more opportunities to expand my horizons and learn more - possible trip to Tokyo to see my new friends, work with Japanese mediators with the Hague Child Abduction Convention, potential new and interesting cases, work with legislators, and new collaborations. Until then, on to my next trip and adventure - I will be trekking back to Seattle in three weeks with a friend from the State Department. We sit on a Uniform Law Commission drafting committee. More hard work, but always worth it if you get to spend time with these amazing people.
