I am one of the unlikeliest of people to shine....I have had my heart broken, my name and face dragged in the mud, my offerings denied, my friendship scorned, my body injured and violated, my sadness mocked, and my identity shattered. And something inside me kept telling me that this pain is not all there is. And something inside me kept whispering my name even though I had forgotten myself. And something inside me told me I would know why, someday. And I do. I look around me and see others who have been hurt until they cry out or lash out, cover up or strike back, or self destruct. And I get it. And I am here so that we see we are not alone in the dark. I am here to shine, and to remind you to shine. This pain is not all there is. Remember your name. Someday you will know why.
