I am one of those wives that has most definitely contributed to my husband’s grey hair. Our plane had barely left the ground when I turned to my husband and said, “I wonder if the kids are going to be alright?” He rolled his eyes and said as he always does, “My love I am sure they are fine. They are in good hands.” It is not exactly the first time that we had to leave our children behind to minister, but I still feel the same way each time. Often we are able to bring at least two of them with, that helps calm my “mommy nerves.” As we have continued with our time in Fresno California, I have seen the Lord open doors and give us such good direction for what He is doing here. Yet each evening as the sun sets, my mind turns to my children once again. Today as I thought about it, it made me wonder how much the Lord Jesus yearns for us too. Sometimes we get so wrapped up in what we are doing and in getting “the job done” that we forget that He is waiting in the usual quiet place to spend time with us. During the course of the last week I have taken time to FaceTime the family back home and for those short moments I can relax and see that they are all still alive, the turtle did not drown and my son did not dismantle anything of importance (not yet anyway… ) As great as those moments are though, they do not make up for the real thing. As great as those snatches are that you have with the Lord, they do not make up for the intimate, quiet moments that He longs to have with you. Sure you can read the Word and have your little quick time in the mornings – but when was the last time you really just sat in His presence and hung out? Sometimes the best moments we can have as a family is when we are all huddled in the lounge – each doing something on a device or playing a game. Often we do not even need to talk all the time. It just feels so good to be together. Well this is what the Lord Jesus wants with you. He does not always need you to talk! He does not always need you to get all spiritual. Sometimes He just wants you to hang out in His presence. To be mindful of Him and to feel Him all around you. So take some time to hang out with the Lord in the next few days. Whether you are in the lounge, car or grabbing your 5 minutes alone in the bathroom – be aware of Him. See Him sitting right there with you. Reach out and say, “Hey Lord Jesus, how are you doing today?” Then just sit in His presence. Do not push yourself to try and find the right words or to get all eloquent. Just BE THERE for Him and then feel as His presence washes over you. I pray that you are refreshed and get all you need in His presence to have a boost for your weekend! Before I forget, let me point you to a motivating free article that will help you get even closer to the Lord. It is called “Face to Face with Jesus” and you can find it here: fivefold-school/show.php?t=Face%20to%20Face%20WIth%20Jesus&ref=63&button=1 Love and blessings Colette Toach
