I am persuaded....I dont generally spar with gnats, but even a gnat can become so irritating. ODE TO THE GNAT So, this gnat invited me and a few others to dinner to have some dialogue about what I thought was going to be spiritual matters on a scholarly level. Well, the gnat was 10 minutes late and was not the scholar the gnat has led some to believe. While waiting for the gnat to get her thoughts and line of questioning together, we went online and purchased ALL the gnats supposedly scholarly works for the sum of .03 cents from Amazon. A speed reader and aficionado, I came to overstand why the gnat felt the need to question me and the nature of SEAL Covenant Ministries International. At this juncture I must digress and provide a word of caution to this gnat and others that may feel the need to gather around my head. I am not a novice but am a scriptural scholar par unum. My life is totally and unequivocally dedicated to the living and teaching of the Word of GoD...and I like to have fun when I teach. The Gnat asked a question that many of you have asked and many others have desired: Why do you call yourself The One? Answer: I am the firstborn male child of my mother and my fathers seed. Thus, as it is written, The LORD said to Moses, Consecrate to me all the firstborn. Whatever is the first to open the womb among the people of Israel, both of man and of beast, is mine. (Exo 13:1-2) I am the first grandchild, the first to graduate with honors, the first to be self employed at 13, and the first college graduate, the first preacher....and among other things I watched The Matrix. My younger brother and I have been calling each other One and Two for as long as we can remember. Nothing spooky or mysterious for you deeply shallow folks. Then the Gnat asked, What is a Messianic Muslim? Answer: There is no such thing as a Messianic Muslim. When I give my testimony of how I was raised in an Islamic household and went to both the Mosque and to the Mt. Nebo Baptist Church, where I sang in the choir, I say that in reference to the fact that I knew Jesus then and I know Him even better now. I use this as a means to also to have open dialogue when I teach comparative religious studies. I also dialogue with Jehovahs Witness, Seventh Day Adventists, Mormons, and Jews. After this, I asked the Gnat a question. What religion or faith is Jesus or GoD? Answer: $#%#@! The Gnat didnt have an answer, but did have another question, to wit: Do you believe in the Trinity? Answer: No. Then the Gnat asks, So, you dont believe that Jesus is GoD? Answer: No, I dont. But thats my belief. I do not force people to believe or think as I do, just be able to prove your position apologetically. As it is written, Prove all things, hold fast to that which is good. (1Thessalonians 5:21) The Gnat then asks all who were at the table, Do any of you believe in the Trinity? Answer: Some said yes, some said no. I explained to the Gnat, I thought rather plainly, that SEAL is simply a training ministry, like a seminary but free of charge. The seminary as does SEAL only exposes you to scholarly study. It does not matter whether you agree or disagree with my position, that is not the focus. We could argue the myriad positions of religion for another 2014 years and yet there would be disagreement. We only encourage you to study, as the Apostle Paul urged Timothy. I am a seminarian, and I make my entire library available to any and all who wish to learn. You dont boycott the library because they make books available that you dont agree with do you? How are you able to make valid contradistinction if you dont research the material? Well, I thought the Gnat would be satisfied, and concluded my speech and my dinner. As the Gnat fumbled through what appeared to be gift cards to pay for my meal, I asked, Are you sure you can handle this? You see, I never order out what I can prepare at home. And anyone who knows me knows that I will always order a steak, period. I dont want your appetizers or your salad...give me steak! I hear you, Apostle, why did you write all this? Because this Gnat is telling half truths, lies, sowing discord, and really irritating some people that I love. And since I know that the Gnat will be perusing and sifting through my FB page as the Pharisees did Jesus trying to catch Him in something, as it is written: As he went away from there, the scribes and the Pharisees began to press him hard and to provoke him to speak about many things, lying in wait for him, to catch him in something he might say. (Luk 11:53-54) If any of you wish to know and not simply speculate, all you have to do is call the source. Only listen not to those who are angry, lonely, disappointed, disgruntled, unlearned, and confused seeking to gain something behind the cracked facade of kindness. As it is written, So they reward me evil for good, and hatred for my love. (Psa 109:5) Again, is this not written in the 55th Psalm of David? Alas, I must depart for as it is again written, Now the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God and the authority of his Christ have come, for the accuser of our brothers has been thrown down, who accuses them day and night before our GoD. selah —The One
