I am pleased to announce that we have been awarded a grant from NSW Health to get our Healthy Options Canteen up and running next season. Again options is the key word but just looking at some of the small changes made this season already: + milk was bought in early in the season and was sold as quickly as I put it in the fridge and now with OAK in the canteen... its hard to keep up with the turn around, not just with Destroyers but our visiting teams. Not just for the kids.. one of our life members and my own son both said to me on two different occasions OAK milk is the best thing thats happened to the canteen haha! + we have changed our pies to low GI pies and offer both small and large sausage rolls (the smaller ones being low GI) + we have introduced toasted sandwiches which have been a hit + our fruit pieces seem to sell at a steady pace. + we have increased our soft drink range but our water still remains $2 + we introduced Powerade ZERO which a lot of parents are wisely choosing for their children and the kids dont even notice the difference! + We are testing selling the thick chips as they absorb less oil What have you enjoyed seeing introduced this season??
