We must find those with like minds who want to make a difference and align across the full spectrum of our society to bring change to Liberia. We in the diaspora need to maximize pressure on the Liberian Government to seriously crack down on corruption. I am still trying to get 100 committed Liberians to begin the diaspora initiative against corruption. and bad governance. Once formed , some of the envisioned activities of this group will be to: 1. inform the Liberian people in simple terms the level of corruption, embezzled/misappropriated funds, and the lost development; 2. empower the Liberian people to self-help through information and direct intervention; 3. make the case to the US Government, EU, IMF, WB, ADB, and our international partners to force the Liberian government to do the right thing; 4. bring lawsuits against corrupt government officials; 5. bring lawsuits against corrupt companies operating in Liberia, especially those with deep ties to the corrupt cabal; and 6. develop a new roadmap for where we want Liberia to go and what it should be in order to benefit ALL citizens, inclusive of re-engineering government functions. Kou Queeglay-Farngalo 10 hrs · Im heartbroken and in tears. over the past four years my team and I have been working on a community-based healthcare project in Liberia . We have made tremendous progress. Few months ago I was recognized by a global health team that expressed interest in our work and agreed to partner with us. Millions of dollars has been donated for this project. health economic experts were sent to Liberia for observation and assessment. Guess what I was told ... Sorry Kou Liberia Has no Government. Donors money continued to be misused. There is no accountability. The government is disorganized and corrupted. many NGOs are pulling out. The needs are great... .but this is not a good time . All I can say is WOW!!!! I have walked through many towns and villages in seven counties in Liberia over the last four years . Women are still giving birth on dirt floors and mud huts with no medical supplies and equipment. our friends and family continued to die of preventable and curable diseases. we continue to send our loved ones to Ghana to seek quality health care. When does it END! Looorrdd, Have Mercy!!!! Although I have lost hope I still have faith. SOLICITING PRAYERS FOR LIBERIA !!!!!
