I am posting this as a prompt of the conversations between Marc - TopicsExpress

I am posting this as a prompt of the conversations between Marc Todd and Rebecca Weston on her photo also the comment that Ken Farrell made on Saturday. Billy Matheson, 92 he was the oldest fiddler at that years event held at the Gaelic College of Arts and Crafts in St. Anns, on Cape Breton. I love all the aspects of Street Photography. But, am keen on taking the photo before the subject knows I am there. Then moving in as I make more images. Put the camera down and meet the person that is in front of my lens. Talk to them and find out their story. Let them know some of my life. Making friends with mankind, not just taking the photo as you pass them by. I know that this is not possible in most cases because of the hustle bustle. And shooting off the hip is another account and another wonderful type of Street Photography in it’s self. I like to get close most of the time, if it is possible. This man was very interesting, as most are that I meet, he is 92 years old and still enjoying his life to the up most. Plays the fiddle and the younger generations of fiddlers look up to him. Not as an old man but one that can do the things that they want to be able to do. He is an example to the young. I would have never known him or felt his soul if I had stopped shooting before I got close enough to engage in real conversation to get his real characteristics, in this photo. This is one of the many ways that I will never be like Robert Frank. I can only hope you can see his soul in this image! © Jon Kral all rights reserved
