I am posting this for a lady, Barbara, who needs to re home her 7 year old basset Abbey Rose. Barbara is going into an assisted living facility that does not allow dogs. Abbey has been deemed ineligible for basset rescue because she is food aggressive, and once bit Barbara. Abbey is a tricolor, spayed female. She is fine with nail clipping and loves belly rubs. She likes a family pit bull (Barbaras grand dog), but is not good with cats, She is housebroken (occasional accidents), and healthy. No known allergies, phobias or separation anxiety, good car traveler, minimal drooler, and barks when excited. Abbey currently resides in Connecticut. Because of her aggression issues, she should not go to a home with children, and a prospective adopter should be basset savvy, and preferably willing/able to take Abbey to a trainer.
