I am posting this song in memory of the late great English singer-songwriter and musician Robert Palmer, who was born on this day back in 1949. He was known for his soulful distinctive voice and his eclectic mix of musical styles on his albums, combining soul, jazz, rock, pop, reggae and blues and sartorial acumen. He found success both as a solo artist and with the band Power Station, and had Top 10 songs in both the UK and the US Charts. His hits included Addicted to Love, Simply Irresistible, Bad Case of Loving You, Johnny and Mary, Change His Ways,Mercy Mercy Me / I Want You, Know By Now, Ill Be Your Baby Tonight (a collaboration with UB40), and this lovely song which happens to be my own particular favourite - She Makes My Day.
