I am pretty certain, I have not posted any politically charged views on FB...ever...well, until now. Yesterday, a dear friends mother sent me a link regarding the Susan G Komen Houston chapter. I KNOW it is credible as I have known this woman for close to 20 years. She is a leader, an intellectual, an activist, a devout and learned Jewish woman and a champion for women and gay rights. I had to share this link. I used to be an avid supporter of the Susan G Komen Race for the Cure Tucson. Then they pulled breast exam funds from Planned Parenthood for political reasons, got litigious with any organization they caught using the words..for the cure...in their cause, and partnered with businesses such as Kentucky fried Chicken and Mikes Hard Lemonade?! I have been silently done with SGK, politely declining the numerous requests I get from my multiple places of work to join teams each each year. I may be opening a Pandoras box and asking for trouble but I felt compelled to use FB as a platform...ignore these links or read the links... I just needed to vent! ; ) I have a handful of friends who are survivors and I honor them and their future health. They ARE warriors and the strongest women I will ever know.
