I am proud to announce my tattoo studio is teaming up with local dermatologist Greg Sulik M.D., M.A. to teach myself and my crew to recognize the warning signs of skin cancer. Skin Cancer kills more people worldwide than breast and prostate cancer combined. Its no secret that residents of Marquette spend a lot of time at the beaches of beautiful Lake Superior. An artist who has been trained to spot warning symptoms of skin cancer can recommend a client to a nearby dermatologist and catch the cancer in its early stages, possibly save lives. A similar campaign has reached wide success in Brazil. We are very excited to be the first and only studio in Michigan trained by a dermatologist to recognize the warning signs of skin cancer. We chose to partner with a local dermatologist. We wanted a dermatologist that we could trust with our clients as our clients put a great deal of trust in our artists. Greg Sulik worked for 12 years as a staff physician at Northern Michigan University. He is board certified in Family Medicine, Accutane and Ipledge. He has postdoctoral training in skin disease and is a clinical instructor at Michigan State University College of Human Medicine. Needless to say we felt very honored to have a doctor with so many reputable qualifications choose to work with us in this campaign. Our training begins Thursday, September 18th.
