I am really excited to be exploring becoming your next State - TopicsExpress

I am really excited to be exploring becoming your next State Senator in 2016, taking over when Sen. Fran Pavley is term-limited out of office. Early endorsements are going to be very important. I would very much appreciate your support. Please use this easy form to endorse me: https://surveymonkey/s/R5HCDR8 I just had a great experience at the CA Dem Executive Board Meeting, rallying support for the campaign. I went in wondering if I am nuts doing this, but I am now feeling really excited and energized. Bob Fertik, president of Democrats and (for identification only) a member of the PDA advisory board, said: Im proud to endorse Richard because hes a dedicated and passionate progressive who thinks deeply about the problems we face and the solutions that will solve them. Continuing Sen. Pavleys environmental legacy is very important to me. I have succeeded in getting a call for a complete phase-out of nuclear power into our state partys platform. I won statewide party support for cleaning the nuclear and toxic mess at the Santa Susana Field Lab to the highest standard. Now Im making a difference in the fight to stop fracking in Porter Ranch. And climate change is at the top of the priority list. We need to fully implement Sen. Pavleys AB 32 (Global Warming Solutions Act of 2006). We need improved incentives for buying fuel-efficient or alternative-fuel vehicles. We need to leverage our amazing tech industry to develop and deploy rooftop solar and other renewable energy options. We need to think about where we will be getting water in a new climate of perpetual drought. We need more jobs, and we need better jobs. I won statewide party support for increasing the minimum wage and indexing it to inflation. To create jobs, we need to build infrastructure. The construction itself creates jobs, and the availability of the infrastructure enables businesses to expand. We need improvement to traditional infrastructure, and we need high tech infrastructure such as expanded availability of broadband Internet and open wireless access. We need to make sure our schools are producing the educated job pool our district needs to attract these businesses. We need to keep the costs of education down, fighting for a vision of high-quality free education. We must promote partnering university research with business development. We have a lot to fight for. Please join me in this fight. As I explore entering this race, I really want to hear your feedback. Do you have advice for me in engaging in this campaign? How can you help? What can I do to serve you as your representative? Please complete this easy endorsement form: https://surveymonkey/s/R5HCDR8 I look forward to working with you. Richard
