I am running for a position on the New England Board of SAG-AFTRA and as a delegate to the upcoming SAG-AFTRA convention in September and am asking for the votes of all New England members. Background performers need a strong voice for New England. I can be your voice. Before the 1978 strike we spoke of merger, but our business was much different. Cable and Video and DVD caught us off guard. In the disastrous negotiations and strike of 2000 we had huge losses. Our merged union, SAG-AFTRA, is finally catching up as shown by the unprecedented gains in the recent commercials contract. We need to help bring business to New England. We need a strong position on New Media and a lucrative new Theatrical contract. As a 36 year member, I’ve participated locally in the Commercials Wages & Working Conditions Committee and our SAG-AFTRA merger effort as well as lots of picket lines on both coasts over the years. I’m well qualified to serve as a Board Member and your delegate to the first ever SAG-AFTRA National Convention. Please contact me with your questions.
