I am saddened by the news that my dear friend Terry Halbardier has past away today, due to a heart attack. Terry has been a great friend and supporter of mine. I first met Terry at the VFW in Visalia and after a few conversations, him and I became friends. He was always willing to give his time and support to other veterans; and that is a quality that I greatly admired in him. Terry was always dedicated and passionate; Avenue of the flags, VFW, it did not matter and he gave it his all. Anyone who knew Terry, knew he had a particular way of doing things and that you were better off hearing him out. He was always dedicated and always looking forward to serving. I recall him losing one of his favorite Texas rings while out helping me put up campaign signs. Terry was very proud of his Texas heritage and made it clear. We had been all over the county that day. He hadnt realized it at the time but it had slipped off some how. Michael Bell and I even went back to look for it. So while on my trip to Texas over the weekend, I made sure to stop off and bring something back for him from Texas, I walked in a store and there it was, a Dont Mess with Texas coozie. I knew I had to get it for for my friend. It was the least I could do for someone so helpful. Sadly, I never got to give it to him as I learned the news of his passing when I arrived home this afternoon. He always seemed to fight for what he believed is right. He will be missed. May his kind heart and dedication never be forgotten.
