I am seeing some posts and even some things on the media today regarding the death of Robin Williams where people are criticizing him for what he did. Its shameful and pathetic that people would criticize someone who was obviously in so much pain that he decided to end his own life rather than to try and learn from this and how we can help others that are suffering from this very real disease that depression is. Mental illness is a disease. There are those who would easily identify with a physical pain and consider that life would not be endurable. How do you presume that mental illness cannot also be as unbearable? Instead of criticizing and making people feel shameful, why not reach out to them, and make these people feel that there is someone who wants to talk to them about it, and help? Robin Williams is no coward. He is not selfish. He endured something for as long as he could endure it. Something that we didnt know about or understand. We only know how we feel about losing him. He is a perfect angel sent here to make us smile. And now he has given us something else. A chance to learn from this and help someone else. Dont criticize. Help.
