I am shocked at the number of people who have spoken to me over - TopicsExpress

I am shocked at the number of people who have spoken to me over the last few days and werent sure how to vote in the runoff election. I appreciate the conversations but it has reminded me of how far the police department has come in the last four years. The police officers and I have made such great strides with bringing transparency and approachability to the citizens of this great city. We have some wonderful community events that have become very successful in this time period, including Cops and Bobbers, Bryants Santa with a Badge, Putting Kids Feet First, Business Watch Program, and National Night Out, which has grown to be one of the largest city events in the last several years. In addition, we have grown the largest police department Facebook page in the state of Arkansas and restored the School Resource Officer Program in the Bryant schools. So you ask which way to vote? Do you like what the police department does and do you want to see it continue to grow? I am aware of conversations where Randy Cox has made his intention clear to replace me if he wins. He is also not in agreement in the direction the police department is moving. If you answered yes to the above question, please consider how much progress the police department has made under the current administration. None of these changes would have been possible without Mayor Dabbs support and vision. I have been asked why the Police Department FOP has not endorsed Mayor Dabbs. It is very simple. The FOP by-laws state we cannot endorse any local candidates. This is done to keep from putting officers in an awkward position, a protective measure for them. I, however, can come out and personally endorse Mayor Dabbs and do so with pride. Thanks for your positive decision when you go to the polls to cast your vote. I ask everyone of my friends to share this even if you dont live in Bryant because you will have friends and family that have contacts here. Your Police Chief, Mark Kizer
