I am sitting here sifting through countless texts and msgs and I am grateful for every single one of them. If I dont respond...its simply a lack of time, energy and brain power. If you havent found out yet through one of my sisters or friends...heres the scoop: Friday morning...my husband and boys went to go trail riding dirt bikes with some friends...it was a beautiful day and everyone was looking forward to it. While they were still just piddling around on their bikes waiting for everyone to get there...my husband went over this little hill...for the third time...and for some reason the bike went up and he went down. We are not certain but something caught his left boot and it snapped his leg - both the bones broke, knee shattered and needless to say, it was beyond excruciating. Thanks to the quick thinking of his friends and the miracle of having a very qualified EMT there...he was successfully taken to the closest trauma center by helicopter. They called it a catastrophic injury and the outcome truly could have been the absolute worst...though, I did not really know that until yesterday when I talked to the surgeon who saw him in the ER. He is in Roanoke Memorial and we are desperately trying to get him transferred to MCV so he can be closer to home for obvious reason. The care has been excellent, but we want him here. Just asking for lots of prayers right now...need all that we can get...I honestly have no idea what we are in for, but I do know...it isnt going to be easy physically or financially. I apologize again if I dont get to your msgs or texts or voicemails quickly and may not get to some at all - I am trying to contact a few people who can relay things as I learn them.
