I am sitting in my chair and I keep getting whiffs of something that smells soooo familiar... I have to stop reading my school work, and breathe deep and let my mind go to the place the scent is taking me... GRANDMOTHER! She had such special scent... Like her voice... it was distinctly hers. I would hug her tight and just breathe her in as a kid... When she died I snuck away from the family at her house, and I sat her in closet after the funeral and just breathed her scent in... It was like she was still there... So, I dont know what I did when I washed the load of laundry I am wearing right now, but everything I am wearing smells just like it came from her closet... Quick fact: Because the olfactory bulb is part of the brains limbic system, an area so closely associated with memory and feeling its sometimes called the emotional brain, smell can call up memories and powerful responses almost instantaneously. If you ever wonder why a special scent brings back sooo many memories, there it is for ya! NOBODY smells like my Grandmother did!!!
