I am so heart-broken by what Im reading on page 18-19 of the latest DRUM magazine (yes, DRUM is still my favourite magazine). Khanyi Mbau and Tebogo Lerole have allegedly broken up, apparently because Khanyi says shes tired of financially supporting him and shes had enough of him being broke. She has kicked him out of her Sandton home and now hes had to go back and stay with his brothers in Soweto. I know youre all probably thinking Duh, its Khanyi Mbau, she has gladly embraced the word gold-digger and has said shes not apologetic about it, so what did you expect? But the thing is, she seemed so happy with Tebza over the past 3 years. How do you stay with someone for 3 years and then wake up one day and break up with him over the fact that hes not financially stable? I mean, surely there is something concrete that gets built in 3 years, something worth fighting for. I just think its not reasonable to leave someone for such reasons. I mean, Tebza had a thriving career at some point, so clearly hes someone with capacity to redeem himself. Its one thing for a man to be incapable of earning an income. But if hes someone who has been able to do so in the past, who clearly is going through a rough patch, surely you stand by such a person and give them a chance to recover. This is too sad. I really loved this couple :(
