I am so lucky to work for Eastleigh Borough Council. Met with my Manager, Jess and Tina from HR. They totally put my mind at rest about all work related issues, telling me repeatedly that they simply want to catch up and reassure me that there is absolutely no pressure being put on me to rush back to work before I, my doc and Occupational Health are sure Im feeling ready. They explained to me that the prospect will probably be quite scary and that they would only want me to go back gradually, possibly just a few hours a week to begin with, but on full pay. They explained that the private Occ Health company will chat with me very informally after my radio therapy, once my doc is happy to consider my going back. All the way through, they stressed that they cant wait to have me back but that everything, from desk, chair, new uniform, hours, duties, will be fitted round my being comfortable and settling back gently. I am very lucky compared with others in this situation. Thank you so much.
