I am so proud of the staff and volunteers at Clay County Animal Care & Control, we had a horrible situation last week with animals being turned in and no animals getting adopted. We were on critical overload and today was going to be a bad day for our animals. However, staff and volunteers stepped up and kept the shelter open later than usual and it really helped. We were all hot and tired and grumpy, but we did what we had to save the animals. Even when we disagreed about something we worked together as our main goal is to help the animals. There is someone that is upset that she did not get an escort (which by the way you dont need to go into the adoption area, the main cat room, and the kitten area behind ) She has been saying some nasty things. It is a shame that a few people are so unbelievably impatient. I wish that lady would come volunteer and get a dose of reality.
