I am so proud of what I have accomplished in the past 3 years. 2 and half years ago I left Corfu and moved to the UK ready to embark on a 3 year degree at Sunderland University. I left my family and friends and left the only life I knew and I moved here alone, not knowing anyone. I have made some incredible friends, I have met an amazing guy and I am doing pretty well at university. Life couldn’t be better and I thank you all for that- I am very proud of everything I have achieved. Please remember though, you all have a network of friends and family outside of uni - I don’t!!! You can all go home or visit friends outside of university if you get fed up or lonely you have somewhere to go - I don’t - I rely on you all to understand this. At the end of this year, some of you will go off to new and exciting things, some will return home BUT FOR ALL OF YOU - your lives will move on. I am happy here and I want to make my life here BUT after uni it all begins again from the beginning for me. Outside of our circle of friends here you have friends from school, from home, from college, your family - I don’t. I love my family and I thank them for giving me this wonderful opportunity in life but they are not a bus/train drive away - they are too far away for that. Jack, you have been in my life 9 months now and I thank you for that - you have become my stability in life - you have become my family now - someone I can rely on, lean on and trust in. To my friends - please remember I do feel vulnerable at times and cannot be strong all the time.
