I am so sadDawn Raia leaves towns in mourning filled with gratitude that she came into our lives; few like Dawn. She had the capacity to make everyone feel special and comfortable in her presence. Her employees loved her for the way that she support them at work and times of crisis. i loved her from the first as a fellow transplanted Brooklynite, that made me so comfortable in her presence. One of my most indelible memories is of Dawn, her friends and staff digging out of the destruction of the old Cafe Galleria..only to see it rise anew. Cancer-claims so many victims of all ages...our friend has left us.. her grace remains and will dwell in our hearts. To her caregivers, I extend my love, deep condolences and a helping heart. You are the best...I love you Beth, Nancy, Camille, and so many known and not.. Emma please stay strong--your people need you.
