I am so sick and tired of the runaround in regards to my dads ashes. He was a Veteran, and I am supposed to be able to have his ashes interred in a Veterans cemetery. Despite the fact that he served in the US Army, I am being told he has to be buried in a cemetery in the state he resided in. The only Illinois cemeteries that have any space left are in the extreme West, Southeast, or South of the state, hours away from where I live. I would rarely be able to visit there if at all. When I try to call the VA, they are always experiencing unusually high call volume and I am instructed to call back later. Try to send an email, and its an endless loop of BS that ends with an error message and an unsent inquiry. I just want to bury my dad. Its been 6 years since he died, and until he is at peace, I wont be. I wish I had a specific person I could contact about this, but I dont. Its gone beyond ridiculous to obscene. :(
