I am so upset that our students are going to be put through this! No significant interruption? How can you start a cosmetology, barbering, nail art and piercing program from the ground up in three months and not expect the students to be interrupted? And the students have to go to the new school, or we have been told, they will not receive their high school hours. But if they graduate high school before they graduate the program, they will have to leave the program at the skill center because you can not be a high school graduate and attend the skill center. How much is starting this program going to cost? They may have the building, but what about everything else involved? Styling chairs, shampoo bowls, pedicure chairs, product for styling, product for coloring, product for nails, product for piercing, etc. What about all the licensing the state requires? There are so many factors to conciser, but the main concern is our students and how this is going to effect them. Several of the students have discussed dropping out of high school to avoid having to attend the skill center program. How is that a benefit? We want the best for our students. Come to the School Board meeting at 7:00 on 10/7/13 in the Superintendents office... There are so many questions that have not been answered!
