I am sorry I did not send out an email last month, the truth is I didnt realise as I have been getting a few emails from some of you of late and replying that. So I pray this message brings and meets you in the peace and love of God. The mustard seed is a teaching I have heard so many times, but this morning I feel The Lord wants to share something new with you. Matthew 13:31-32 He presented another parable to them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and sowed in his field; 32 and this is smaller than all other seeds, but when it is full grown, it is larger than the garden plants and becomes a tree, so that THE BIRDS OF THE AIR come and NEST IN ITS BRANCHES. When I read the passage, a few things stand out to me. 1.Who and what we represent as believers 2. The sower 3.The field 4.Humble or insignificant beginnings 5.The process 6.The outcome 7.Service is our purpose. Now follow the numbers closely because I am going to link my writing today as numbers rather than headings. I pray I create a picture of the way God sees you and break the doubt and low self esteem the world may have painted! (1)Most believers claim to be a reflection of Christ on earth, to be a representation of the kingdom of God on earth, so in our conduct, words, we must reflect like, be the Salt and light of the world. We must aim to be the sanctuary on earth, get this, for some people, the only experience of God or heaven they might have had in months will be you, so what happens when you stop playing your part? Remember bad things only happen when good people do nothing. So we agree, we are a representation of the kingdom of heaven on earth? Indulge me for a second, so that means you should be like a mustard seed? (2) the man that sows, the sower is the Son of Man( Jesus Christ) (3) the field is earth, so Christ planted you on earth as a representative of the Kingdom, do you think it was a mistake? So the next time you question or wonder if you are meant to be here, what you are inevitably saying is, God did not know what He was doing. God saw all He made and thought it was good, that includes you! So if you get to a point where you are struggling, dont let the world make you question your creator, rather ask the sower to water and feed you, because you are running dry. (4) the mustard seed is the least of all the seeds, your beginning or the stage you might be right now, might not be counted successful according to the world standard or even your standard but I ask you, did the world plant you here? Are you representing yourself here on earth? So your standard should be Christs, but how would you really know what Gods standard are at different stages of your life, if you keep imposing your expected outcome on Him. I find the world such a funny place sometimes, God has given us free will, yet we take it off and enslave ourselves through work,money, emotional demand from people or to people. We turn ourselves into zombies with an illusion of a living flesh. The world sets out all these standards and anything that falls below these standard is considered a failure. For example, anyone that goes to university is successful if they come out with a 1st class degree, anything less is average or a failure, another example is when a couple gets married, they are to have their children, otherwise that marriage would be deemed unfruitful, or a graduate that has not gotten a job in their field of study has wasted a degree or a relationship that did not end in marriage is considered wasted investment. But I ask you, what did you learn in the process? Because success is not necessarily the physical things you have to show the world, but how you have grown as a person, the growth from the inside out. That is the strength of the mustard seed, its seed might be nothing at the beginning , takes a while to germinate unlike the bean seed that springs forth so quickly for the world to see but dies almost as quickly as it came. Look at the great ?successful men of today, look deep into their story, did they follow the status quo? Dont get me wrong, when you are at university you work your socks off, because the bible teaches that whatever your hand finds to do, you do it well, so I am talking about what happens when you have given your best and the world tells you, your best is not enough. I am here to tell you, your best is all God requires and in His eyes it is perfect. So I reiterate, is your beginning insignificant or just humble, do not despise your humble beginnings or where you are in life, rather rejoice because like a mustard seed you will grow(5) and although the process might be hard, with lots of bends, stumbles, days of little rain, days where some weed(life situations) would appear to want to strangle the life out of you (6) you will grow and you will be greater than the herbs and become a tree and (7) your life will be a life of service, you will draw so many to the kingdom because your life, your process/journey will be a testimony for all to see in Gods time, as the birds of the air will come and nest in your branches, people will come to you and find sanctuary in you, by Gods grace, they will experience the kingdom of heaven and God through you. So you see, you cant give up or get tired of the journey, the process, I need you, above all God needs you, you have a lot to offer, the harvest is plenty but the labourers few. We have work to do.
