I am sorry we have not posted something sooner but this has been a waiting game for us, too. The MRI showed no change in the bleed on the outside of Alexs brain above where they put the shunt in. After comparing the MRI he had done after his decompression on the 30th, it does show a bleed there so this has been ongoing possibly from the amount of fluid pressure Alex has had. Another operation was an option, basically to open Alex back up and repair the entire patch (reduce any fluid leaks) and evacuate the bleed. However, surgery has been cancelled at this time since fluid and the bleed is stable and Alex is doing well. Although he is in some pain this is to be expected and it is being managed but he is eating, toileting, up and walking around, etc. Hopefully we can get him back to his happy go lucky self soon! If all continues on this path he should be discharged Sunday but we will be staying right next door at the RMH for a couple of days before heading home with him. Thank you for all of your continued prayers, thoughts, posts, pictures, etc. we really appreciate them and keep them coming so he can get well and we can come home!!
