I am super proud of two Wongs right now. Joseph Wong of Focus Malaysia (focusmalaysia.my) and Pauline Wong of The Heat (theheat.my) won top journalism prizes last night at the Malaysian Press Institute-Petronas awards. Focus and Heat are relatively new publications in the HCK Media stable but the wins clearly show the high level of professionalism the team members show when practising their craft. They were up against the very established mainstream newspaper writers but walked away champions in their categories. People have always asked me why I should venture into the capital-intensive and long-gestation business of print and digital media. Its moments like this that makes the tough journey worth it.
