I am sure most of you remember The 9-year-old girl who accidentally shot her instructor with the Uzi he was teaching her to shoot. News was released the other day that the girl had said that she told the instructor the gun was too heavy, and that it hurt her shoulder. I suspect that this will be the basis for a law suit of some kind. BUT... Apparently the attorneys that The Family has retained (because you KNOW that there is going to be some kind of suit) has put out a video of The Children with a message to the young girl. The cynical side of me feels that the idea of this video was pressed upon these kids by the attorneys, and not so much The Children. Why? Well, two things: 1) it is what lawyers do. 2) The body language doesnt match the words on any of the children. For them, this is WAY too early in the loss process, and it comes off as being somewhat contrived. They are reading from a script, not from the heart, and the eyes belie the message. There is a lot of anger there -- which is natural, and you would expect that. Their heads may feel what they say but the heart doesnt. Call me cynical, but I DO know lawyers, and I kinda have a degree or two in psychology. But hey, if you want to take the video at face value, then that is alright too.
