I am sure people think I just hate cops which is not it at all. I hate seeing people being oppressed and beaten regardless of who is swinging the club or kicking them with a boot. I honestly want to return respect back to the profession and have them return to their proper title which is PEACE OFFICER not police officer which is actually a policy officer out looking to generate additional revenue. Unfortunately it is going to take a lot of people seeing these ugly stories about the people they have been told all their entire lives to trust in order for them to agree with me. It will also take family members that have personal knowledge and experience about the crimes their loved ones have committed while wearing the badge to speak out and say that new measures need to be put in place in order for there to be accountability. Those measures should be citizen review boards and citizen observers. These people should be volunteers that are not paid and are only there because they want real accountability. The citizen observer should be able to show up and pick any officer they choose to ride with and not be assigned some officer by a sergeant, lieutenant or other high ranking officer telling them they have to ride with officer Jones or Smith. They should be able to show up at any time of the day or night and any day of the week. The review board should have complete say over whether an officer is suspended, terminated or terminated with criminal charges to be filed and prosecuted by a special prosecutor. No more of this allowing cops to investigate themselves and white wash the matter.
