I am thankful for: sunflowers, pansies, bright colors, Sesame Street songs - especially I Dance Myself to Sleep and I Dont Want to Live on the Moon by Ernie and We All Sing With the Same Voice. I am thankful for Joe Scruggs and almost all of his songs for children. It was a very lucky day when we discovered him many years ago. I am thankful for Meg Ryan during her cute stage and movies that she made including Kate and Leopold, Youve Got Mail, and Sleepless in Seattle. I love her cute interaction with Tom Hanks in Youve Got Mail when she is sick and he brings her daisies and she comments that daisies are the friendliest flowers. I am thankful for Hugh Grant and Emma Thompson in Sense and Sensibility and especially for their interaction when he comes to her house and she discovers that he is not married. I am thankful for Carroll OConnor in Return to Me; that was a great part for him to play. This movie is a great romance, as is Notting Hill. Unfortunately Notting Hill steps over the line of clean in a few scenes. I do love the part where she is standing in front of him stating that she is just a girl wanting to be loved. And the portrayal of the friends that surround Hugh Grant in this movie is a wonderful commentary on friendship and loyalty and love. I guess it could be said that I love a good romance .... The Runaway Bride (who doesnt want a husband as sensitive as Richard Gere in this movie?), My Big Fat Greek Wedding (strong family support), Pride and Prejudice (ah, Mr. Darcy and Elizabeth Bennett), Persuasion (holding my breath sincerely hoping they will get together again), and even Remains of the Day where Anthony Hopkins cannot being himself to admit that he is in love with Emma Thompson and, in the end, is sad forever. I am thankful for the fine and sensitive musicians, authors and directors everywhere who offer the world fun, uplifting and inspiring entertainment.
