I am the first born grandchild. That doesnt make me first, nor anyone else last. I am the only grandson. And still, there is no first or last. My Grandma loved all of her grandchildren. Equally. Because that is the only way she knew how to love. With her whole heart. When I was very young, my Grandma worked at Mothers Day Out. I witnessed first hand how this love reached much farther than just our family. She shared that whole hearted love with children who were placed in her care. This also happened in the nursery at church. She cared for, nurtured, and loved every single person who came under her watch. Through her many years, she had to witness many things that could have tainted that love. And yet she still loved. She saw many things in her earthly years that she didnt want or need to see. And yet, she still loved. She was full of love. She used it to bring people together. She formed a bond with people. It is a lasting bond. This bond extends beyond our family. It encompasses the friends and aquaintences she has come in contact with. She was someone to look to for comfort, care, guidance, and faith. She never turned her back on someone in need. Today, she has her sweet reward. She is not gone, she is living eternally with our Father in Heaven. And I take heart and direction from this. Today, I rejoice, not only because she no longer suffers, but because she is, on this day, victorious! Today, my Grandma is in the presence of our Heavenly Father, and reunited with those that have gone to that place before her. Is she in a better place. No. She is in the BEST place. We love her, and we will be reunited with her soon.
