I am thoroughly disgusted with our nation. In the last decade our civil liberties and privacy have eroded like never before in history. It started as a reaction to 9/11 with the patriot act, suspension of due process for citizens deemed enemies of the state and warrant less wiretapping. Obama promised to repeal them, yet he has only strengthened them and added to them. Recently he defended spying on us citizens as a trade off for security. These laws are not meant to catch terrorists. They are meant to identify "enemies of the state" Or simply US Citizens who threaten to upset the status quo. They make it easy to control their citizens and squelch free speech. Conservatives and liberals alike how bout we vote for the libertarian and green parties the next election cycle to combat this egregious violation of our rights that both parties have allowed to occur.
