I am thrilled and thankful to announce that Detroit Garment Group Guild has been able to raise enough money to order all the necessary sewing machines needed to complete our classroom at HFCC M-TEC for our Industrial Sewing Certification Program, which launches this September. We have many people and companies to thank for stepping up and helping us financially in this endeavor. Id like to recognize the following for their major donations: The Somerset Collection & The Forbes Company, Shinola, Quicken Loans, and Norman A. Yatooma. Also, Artloft, La Jolie Rose, a chic boutique & Hannah Bear Boutique, Dolce Moda and INTERMIX for their shopping fundraisers. To Mark DAndreta of TD Industrial Coverings and Lear Corporation for donating machines (and Marks own fundraising campaign). And finally, all the companies/individuals who gave to our Crowdrise campaign, helped spread the word and anything and everything else needed to make this happen, including Bob Biess, Barb Dziedzic Biess, Salesforce, Renee Godin, Danialle Karmanos and Christiana J. Paul. On behalf of DG3, we thank you all. Now lets take the next step forward to launch this program, provide a trade opportunity for individuals all over metro Detroit, and attract some new cut and sew manufacturing to the state of Michigan!
