I am truly awed and blessed with all the well wishes and support from my first ultramarathon, The Deer Lake 67, It was an amazing experience. The event was top notch, from Lorne Reid who inspired me to train and enter, the committee, The Town of Deer Lake, the Search and Rescue, the volunteers, the sponsors, my sponsors (Humber Valley Sod Farm and The Co-operators : Gloria L. White Insurance Services Inc, the spectators, the great aid stations along the way, all the great runners I ran with, met some great people . My family, my farmer Dave (who put up with my whining during the bad training days) and my great Pit Crew of Jordan Sutton, Julia Williams Alicia Noelle White and Dave, it was great to have such local support throughout race day. Im proud to be the first Deer Lake female but I sure hope others will follow in years to come. As for my training schedule , I have to say I loved most of it , hated some of it, struggled through some of it but never could have done it without Lornes guidance and I thank you for approaching me to enter this race. Im sure with all the local support that this will grow and grow each year !! Amazing way to end the summer :) PS If Ive forgotten someone its not deliberate. someone next to me is rushing me lol
