I am trying to get a docking port working on a Dell Latitude D505. - TopicsExpress

I am trying to get a docking port working on a Dell Latitude D505. It works just fine on my D610, and the driver is the same for either laptop. The D505 needs a new power jack installed because it wont charge the battery through the adapter. So, Ive been charging the battery in the D610 and then putting it in the D505. The docking port should effectively take the place of the power jack through the docking port, but the laptop keeps barking about it only being on battery power and isnt seeing the docking port at all, so I have to F1 to shut down. I kind of hate to tear this D505 apart to put in a new power jack, so Id like to figure out why the docking port isnt being seen by the D505. Any ideas other than replacing the jack????
