I am trying to understand this, and perhaps others can help me. In the developing world, ordinary people struggling to survive have every reason not to trust the government and people coming in to help. In Guinea, townspeople killed eight strangers who walked into town without first meeting with the village elders, and sprayed chemicals that were probably worthless. Many of my neighbors believe that fluoridation, biotech food, and even immunizations are part of a conspiracy to poison them and cause disease. What should we expect from the worlds poorest people, accustomed to being screwed by everyone, beginning with their own government? Again, Im trying to understand rather than to justify murder. For thirty years, anyone with a basic knowledge of disease and of the Ebola virus could have predicted that there would be a massive outbreak sooner or later. Ive heard todays events predicted since the 1980s. A vaccine should have been fast-tracked long ago. Until its available, expect acts of outrage from the ordinary people that the world has neglected for too long. bbc/news/world-africa-29256443
