I am utterly baffled by facebooks proclivity to censor my poetry when it allows so many hateful images to be posted ad nauseam, as with the torture and senseless hunting of our precious endangered species. And what about all the blatant instances of bigotry, misogyny and the omnipresent messages of hatred that are exchanged daily by the Right and Left of the social, religious and political spectrum? It would seem that the message facebook’s administration is sending to its users is that the spreading of HATE is perfectly acceptable, that depictions of violence and cruelty are also well within the parameters of what facebook finds no fault with. But if a poet dares write about two (or even three or more ;) ) people making love, enjoying mutually consensual carnal pleasure, he or she will be threatened, CENSORED and ultimately removed from facebook altogether. There is something intrinsically wrong with that thinking facebook. It’s downright un-American in the considered opinion of this close foreign observer.
