I am very excited about this week! It will be a most joyous time of incredibly special music-making at the spectacular, world-renown Film Music Festival in Krakow, Poland! This is sure to be one of the most thrilling weeks of film music ever, as Festiwal Muzyki Filmowej w Krakowie presents an astounding program of historic and contemporary classics! One of the two very special concerts that I am so grateful to be a featured soloist is the International Gala of Film Music: Krakow Film Music Festival Celebrates the American Society of Composers, Authors & Publishers (ASCAP)100th Anniversary on Sunday, September 28, 2014!! The stellar special guest list: Hans Zimmer, Gustavo Santaolalla, Dario Marianelli, Elliot Goldenthal, Patrick Doyle and Garry Schyman! I will perform three suites from the immortal films: Elmer Bernstein’s To Kill a Mockingbird (specially arranged for me by the wonderful Austin Wintory), Henry Mancinis Breakfast at Tiffany’s and Alex North’s famous Love Theme from Spartacus (also a special arrangement for me by the awesome Lee Holdridge directed by Stanley Kubrick. This concert will present suites from ASCAP’s unparalleled roster of legendary film composers and will be performed by The Beethoven Academy Orchestra, conducted by the great Diego Navarro. The Gala will also be an opportunity to witness performances by spectacular jazz and classical soloists, who collaborate with Hollywood’s most prominent artists. Philip Glass’ unforgettable score from The Hours will be performed by Leszek Możdżer – one of the most important Polish pianists, who often works with top jazz musicians from Poland and the rest of the world, and who’s also a film and theater music composer himself. Hans Zimmer’s long awaited arrival to Krakow is accompanied by excellent soloists. Independent composer, cello player and conductor Tristan Schulze, as well as charismatic Czarina Russell, a singer originating from London and a member of Remote Control, who collaborated with Zimmer on his scores for: 12 Years a Slave, Madagascar 3, Inception and other films, will perform along with the famous composer in the Tinning Plant, and so much more! I will also have the honor of being a special guest on the GameOn concert in the Malopolska Garden of Arts on Friday, the 26th of September, where I will perform with an amazing ensemble of musicians, music from famous video games like: Diablo II, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Bioshock-Infinite, WildStar and World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King and Mists of Pandaria. Garry Schyman - composer and BAFTA winner, one of the best and most prominent game music composers in the world will also be a special guest of the concert. The special arrangements of the music scores for the concert have been created by renowned composers like Adam Gubman, Jeff Kurtenacker, Russell Brower, Neal Acree, Jason Hayes and Garry Schyman himself.
